Tim Parshall took over as the director of the Fellowships Office at the University of Missouri on Sept. 1, 2011.
Parshall earned degrees in English literature from Colgate University and the University of Missouri. He has taught courses in writing, literature, and student success skills; spent time as an editor and writer; and worked for nearly 25 years at MU’s Assessment Resource Center.
Rachel Newman began her role as Assistant Director in May 2018. Rachel holds two degrees, a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education, from the University of Missouri College of Education. Rachel lived in Bangalore, India on two different occasions during her time as an MU student. Prior to joining the Fellowships Office staff full time, Rachel supported English Language Programs at Brandeis University in the Boston area before returning to work at her alma mater.
Graduate Research Assistant
Heather Sweeney became the Fellowships Office Graduate Research Assistant in the Fall of 2017 at the start of her doctoral work in the Education Leadership and Policy Analysis program, within the School of Education, where her studies focus on the geographic and spatial contexts of education. Previous to becoming a PhD student at the University of Missouri, Heather earned a Masters of Science in Education in Higher Education Administration from the University of Kansas and both of her Baccalaureate degrees from Webster University. While attending Webster University, Heather spent a summer studying, living, and performing in Vienna, Austria
