Rotary District 6080 offers one Rotary Global Scholarship annually to an outstanding graduate student who wishes to engage in full-time study abroad during the coming academic year. This scholarship is for one year only. Applicants for a Rotary Global Scholarship must enroll in a graduate course of study that is directly related to one of the following six humanitarian focus areas designated by Rotary International:
- Peace and conflict prevention and/or resolution
- Disease prevention and treatment
- Water and sanitation
- Maternal and child health
- Basic education and literacy
- Economic and community development
Applicants must complete their bachelor’s degree program from an accredited institution of higher education no later than May to be eligible to depart for study abroad the following fall. Applicants must live in, work in, or be a student in Rotary District 6080 in central and southern Missouri.
The scholarship recipient will receive a scholarship in the amount of $40,000 for one academic year. This award will cover the cost of tuition, fees, educational supplies, room and board, and round-trip transportation to/from the study site.
Rotary District 6080 Global Scholarship applications are due in October and are accepted beginning in late August.
