SOM Foundation Structural Engineering Fellowship

This $20,000 independent fellowship enables a student to conduct research and travel to select cities to study how structures can positively respond to humanizing density in our cities. It is the hope of the Foundation that the Fellow will turn influence the practice and teaching of structural engineering in the future.


Candidate must be graduating with a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD in civil or architectural engineering with a specialization in structural engineering of buildings and bridges from a U.S. school and must intend to enter the professional practice of strucutral engineering. Candidate must be nominated by their dean or department chair. U.S. citizenship not required.
