The MacDowell Colony is a prestigious artist colony in Peterborough, New Hampshire. Each year, 250 residency fellowships are awarded to artists in architecture, music composition, film and video, interdisciplinary art, theatre, visual art, and literature. These artists may be professionally recognized or emerging artists and work for five to eight weeks at the studios in the MacDowell Colony.
U.S. and international citizens are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be graduated at the time of submitting the application and are committed to the disciplines of architecture, film/video, interdisciplinary arts, literature, music composition, theatre, and visual arts.
Recipients are provided room and board for eight weeks. They have exclusive use of one of 32 studios at MacDowell Colony. Need-based stipends and travel grants are also awarded.
