National Security Education Program David L. Boren Undergraduate Scholarships
Enrolled undergraduate or graduate students with goals to work for the U.S. Government receive study abroad funding for one year to study the language and culture of a country critical to U.S. security.
Gates Cambridge Scholarship
Looks for students of exceptional academic achievement and scholarly promise for whom advanced study at Cambridge would be particularly appropriate. Funds are available for students (seniors and graduate students) with high acadmeic achievement and the potential to lead in addressing global health, equity and technology problems.
Churchill Scholarship
Twelve scholarships offered each year to pursue graduate work in Engineering, Mathematics, and the Physical and Natural Sciences, at Churchill College, Cambridge University. Based on academic achievement; abilty to pursue original, creative work; leadership ability of graduate students.
DAAD (German Academic Exchange Services)
Promotes international academic relations and cooperation by offering mobility programs for students. Must show how opportunity is critical to academic or career goals.
Freeman-Asia
The primary goal of Freeman-ASIA is to increase the number of U.S. undergraduates who study in East and Southeast Asia, by providing them with the information and financial assistance they will need.
Benjamin A. Gilman
This scholarship provides awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving federal Pell Grant funding at a 2-year or 4-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide.
Institute for International Public Policy (IIPP)
Represents a direct response to the identified national need to create a more diverse talent pool of well-trained, language-proficient professionals from which U.S. international affairs agencies and organizations can draw highly qualified personnel. Funds are for underrepresented minorities seeking careers in international affairs.
Marshall Scholarship
This award is intended to bring intellectually distinguished young Americans, who will one day become leaders, to the United Kingdom for study for 22 months. Funds are for seniors to study for two years in the United Kingdom as a graduate student.
George J. Mitchell
Intended to familiarize and connect the next generation of American leaders with the island of Ireland. Seniors with accomplishments in academics, leadership, and service are eligible to apply. Provides tuition, housing, a living expenses stipend, and international travel to Ireland for one year.
Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship
Seeks to attract outstanding students from all ethnic, racial and social backgrounds who have an interest in pursuing a Foreign Service career in the U.S. Department of State. Funding is available for sophomores and graduate students. Provides funding for a junior year summer institute and two summer internships. Pickering provides tuition remittance and a study abroad experience.
The Rhodes Trust Scholarship
Seeks excellence in qualities of mind and in qualities of person which, in combination, offer the promise of effective service to the world in the decades ahead. Campus nomination based on intellectual distinction, integrity, and leadership.
Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships
Furthers international understanding among people of different countries. Funding is generally for one academic year of study in another country. Application takes place 18 months before study abroad experience. Applicant may apply thru the Rotary in their hometown or in Columbia.
